Sunday, March 18, 2018. It seems all it has been doing here is raining. We finally got a few days of sunshine but it rained last night and I hear it is going to rain tomorrow. So I took advantage of the sunshine by doing a photo shoot with this quilt. The fabrics I used were Island Batik. What was left over from cutting the petals out I used to make the binding. Thursday, July 13, 2017. A lovely, but hot and sunny day on the Hudson River produced this painting of the Rondout Lighthouse. My plein air group met at the Rotary Park, which is the old site of Kingston Point. A hundred years ago and more, it was the steamboat landing and amusement park that 1000s of people visited, including my grandmother, who loved to talk about it. You can walk along the trolley tracks and there are big shade trees and a few picnic tables.

Brunsvigia Josephinae, this year 3 bulbs all flowered. The Miscanthus Sinesis has the beginnings of those feathery heads on tall stems. The sedum is another colour below the grasses. Marlborough Sounds, as the sun started to shine through the clouds.
